Lack Of Magnesium

The patient then receives an injection of a particular amount of magnesium, after which another 24 hour urine sample is collected, being tested for magnesium levels. If it is determined through these tests that the body is holding on to the injected magnesium and not naturally eliminating it, the body most likely has a lack of magnesium.
A lack of magnesium is an easily correctable condition. For some who may have a severe deficiency, their doctor may prescribe oral or injectible magnesium to quickly and efficiently bring the body back into balance. For others who suspect that their diets are not supplying a sufficient amount of the mineral, changing their diet to include whole grains, dark green leafy vegetables, nuts, halibut and black beans to their daily meal plans will be a great improvement.
