We are coming off of nearly a decade filled with low-carb fads and anti-carb lectures. These diets, and the gurus who were responsible for pushing them into our faces, have finally begun to hush and bow to the truth. The market leads off of our greatest fears and shortcomings, making it easy to justify buying that low-fat TV dinner for times sake. What wee forget to check are the levels of empty calories and fillers, not to mention the lack of natural fibers and nutrients which make a meal worthwhile. The carbohydrates in food of this type are complex, and therefore harder for your body to digest and absorb. This completely defeats the purpose of carbohydrates in our bodies, which are normally sent to buffer the digestive tract and boost your energy levels.
The carbohydrates in food which is rendered from animals tends to be low, as long as the meat is fresh and is prepared without fillers, sauces, or breading. Using oils will also defeat the purpose when countering bad carbs with good ones. Baking, broiling, and barbequing are great, healthy ways of preparing your meats and your vegetables. Good carbohydrates are easy to come by, but so are the bad ones, making diligence our only option. A bit of information can go a long way, and we must make sure that we are prepared for decision making at meal and snack time.

Very rarely are you encouraged to completely refrain from sinful or not so healthy foods.
