You will feel yourself letting go and it will become much easier to calm down and fall asleep when you are completely relaxed.

Relaxation techniques can be used with the mind as well. Focus on one thing, like counting or spelling to distract yourself from thinking and worrying. Just let the mind go completely and sleep will not be far away.
