Right Chest Pain

Right Chest Pain: Ischemic Or Anxiety Based?

There isn’t as big a difference between right chest pain and left chest pain as once thought, and most severe chest pain episodes involving pulmonary distress will radiate throughout many parts of the upper body, often making it impossible for a victim to point out any one area. If you are having right chest pain, this could still be a significant sign of serious trouble, and anyone suffering from chest pain should consult a physician as soon as possible. Atypical chest pain, which would be felt more to the surface of the chest wall rather than deep inside by the lungs, can still be a sign of some debilitating psycho-physical issues that need to be addressed. Never assume that if it goes away its nothing, because this frame of mind can mean the difference between prevention and life threatening problems.

Right chest pain can be a sign of pulmonary distress, though you may also feel this type of sharp, persistent, and progressively worsening pain in the middle of your chest, on the left side, or radiating throughout the chest cavity with no one culprit area that you can point to. There are a great many other symptoms that can precede or accompany right chest pain, and some of them may surprise you. Localized pain in the teeth, jaw, neck, on the sides beneath the arms, either arm, shoulders, stomach cavity, or at your back between the shoulder blades can also be signs that you need to seek medical attention. You may feel dizzy, nauseous, faint, and short of breath at rest. Self diagnosis is not an option where these issues are concerned, so be sure to self advocate.

Right chest pain can also happen where psychological or emotional disorders are present and begin to affect the physical body. Atypical chest pain can happen in all of the same areas as pulmonary pains do, but those associated with anxiety will not squeeze or press on the chest causing a suffocating pressure. Right chest pain when associated with panic attack will be accompanied by hyperventilation and shortness of breath, but the victim does not feel crushed by a heavy weight.

Most of these issues are not to be decided by you, however. Medical experts have a great many questions and diagnosis techniques that are designed to pull the answer out for you, and you will do best to consult with a doctor as soon as possible. Right chest pain can be just as significant as left, and your safety will lie in how quickly you seek treatment and advice. If you have a history of heart disease or stroke, and you feel any of these familiar symptoms occurring, it is important that you call for emergency help right away.
