Brindle Pit Bull
Meet the Lovely Brindle Pit Bull
The brindle Pit Bull may be one of the most popular breeds of dog in the United States today, even though the breed has suffered a bad reputation because of unscrupulous owners using them for dog-fighting. You can find Pit Bulls living with families everywhere they are still allowed. The brindle color has a subtle striping through its coat. The striping is faint but very pretty, and this is one of the things that makes the brindle coat so attractive.
A brindle Pit Bull makes an excellent guard dog and a good family pet. You must assure that they are properly trained, though, or they may be more dog than you can handle. Your dog can be trained so that he will be your loyal companion. Pit Bulls are very intelligent, and they can pick up commands quickly. But you will want to train them when they're young and still easily impressionable. They have a lot of energy, and their hyperactivity can sometimes be mistaken for aggressiveness. Unless the brindle Pit Bull is trained to attack, or neglected, it is no more likely to be vicious than nearly any other breed. If properly trained, these dogs make the most obedient of pets.
Your Pit Bull will need lots of exercise, and not just when you happen to feel like it. Brisk walks are good for your dog, and they need to be taken on a regular basis. You can use the time spent walking to learn about your dog's behavior. You can work on training him yourself, but you might want to look into professional trainers as well.
You need to remember too, that your brindle Pit Bull needs to spend quality time with you to develop into a faithful companion. As is the case with most dogs, they wish to please you, and they want affection from you in return. Pit Bulls love to play outside, so if you have a fenced in yard, that's a great place to let them run – while you supervise them. Or take them to the dog park with an extended leash. Don't isolate your dog in kennels or runs for extended periods of time. This can make them depressed and aggressive, since they become frustrated at being kept away from you.
The brindle Pit Bull can be a hassle in the house, or a loving friend for many years. It's up to you to take the time, especially when they are young, to train them, so they know what is expected of them. They will thrive if you lavish them with attention and love. If you neglect them or harass them, then you may end up with a sad pet who is no fun to be around. And it wouldn't be his fault, but yours.
