Chew sugar free mints or gum to give your mouth something to do during these tough times, too, and this will help you to stay away from the food that we so often turn to for craving control.
If you are craving minerals or vitamins that your body is lacking, this may come across to you as odd cravings for things like ice, sulfur, or salt. The trace elements and nutrients in each of these craved items are essential to us, though we may never have known that they were even there at all. Some children will suck on rocks, and we giggle and panic at the thought of how silly and dangerous this could be, but their bodies are telling them that they need phosphorus, lime, magnesium, and all of those other wonderful elements and metals that can only be found in nature.
