Camping Items

A Few Important Camping Items
There are some all important camping items that we rarely forget to take along with us, such as the tent and the sleeping bags, a few food items and the cooler. But what about those things that we don’t think of until it’s too late, and we’re a hundreds of miles from nowhere with wet clothes and no way to start a fire? The camping items you choose will depend highly upon whether you are using a tent or a camper, as the latter tens to have all of the creature comforts that we humans have grown accustomed to. Tent camping is much more primitive, but you can make it as comfortable and safe as possible by packing well and being prepared.
You may do best to pack up a sealable tote box, and the size of it will depend on how many people you are taking along on your trip. If you have a good deal of room, such as the bed of a pickup truck or the rear of a van, you can easily get away with packing up a 30 to 50 gallon tote without worry. From this tote, you can grab what you need for a day at the river or a nice hike, but then pack it back away when the day is done. The camping items that you will store in this tote will include all of the things that you may need but don’t necessarily have room for in your tent or camping gear. Make a list, and stick to it.
Some people forget to bring medications on camping items, though these can mean the most important difference between a good trip and a bad one. Fever reducer, pain reliever, a first aid kit, band aids, antibacterial creams, bug bite remedies, and the like will find a home here. Remember also that rain can kill a great camping trip along with the campfire, so this is a great place to store a few sealed packages of kindling wood for emergencies. You can place these camping items at the bottom, where they will stay safe, dry, and out of the way until you need them.
For some fun camping items, you can find portable gaming sets such as volleyball, crocket, badminton, and horseshoes. Most camp grounds, or even clearings, have enough room to allow for some sporting, and this can be a great thing where kids and larger groups are present. Don’t forget your most important camping items, such as at least two flashlights and backup batteries, cooking and eating utensils, bug spray, sun block, and plenty of blankets. Be sure everyone has a spare jacket, and keep clean drinking and cooking water on hand.
